Registering and logging into the NHS App can be the trickiest part. Many older (and younger!) people find the process frustrating and sometimes give up. But don’t worry—being prepared can make all the difference!
Having the NHS App on a tablet or smartphone offers many benefits for seniors and their support network. It’s a quick and easy way to sit together and access NHS services.
Once you’ve downloaded the app, you’ll need to register.
Be prepared and have the following ready in advance:
· An email address you have access to – you will receive a verification code via email
· A mobile phone number – you will be sent a security code by text
· A passport or driving licence as ID – you will be asked to take a photo of your ID and a quick selfie (a photo of your face) to prove it’s you.
· Your NHS Number - if you have it handy, it can speed things up.
Top Tip:
Many people struggle with taking a photo of their ID and face during registration. To make it easier, take these photos in advance and save them to your ‘Photos’. When prompted, you can simply upload them from your gallery instead of taking new ones on the spot.
Having everything ready before you start can take the stress out of the process. But if you’re still struggling, don’t worry, you can always pop into your local GP practice and ask the reception staff to help you set it up.
