Many older people worry about whether it’s okay to use their mobile phones in hospital, especially with concerns about interfering with medical equipment.
The good news is that the NHS encourages mobile phone use to help you stay in touch with loved ones! However, they also provide some important guidelines to follow:
🔹 Be considerate: Avoid making calls or using your phone in a way that disturbs other patients.
🔹 Respect privacy: Don’t take photos of others or make video calls that could show other patients, visitors, or staff members.
🔹 Sensitive areas: Avoid using your phone around sensitive equipment where interference is a risk. Look for signs and switch off your device or enable ‘airplane mode’ in these areas—silent or vibrate modes are not enough.
